I have just taken delivery of my Q5 which I really love, but I have one query.

My Q5 has the electric folding mirrors as an option, but they only seem to retract when with the mirror adjustment switch is used when the car is stationary. I live near a narrow lane so it is useful retracting the mirrors on the move. I thought that the demo Q5 I had driven retracted the mirrors whilst on the move. Now I am not so sure.

I would appreciate if any fellow Q5 owners could confirm either way

Hi Alan -

My mirrors don't retract when car is in motion, only stationary. Very useful for some tight car lifts I use though.

you can do the auto fold when you lock the car through the MMI, but not moving though

took me a while to find....if you turn the mirror adjust knob through 180 degrees (ie, the litle mark is facing at 6 o'clock) then they will retract manually if that makes sense...

Thanks for the info everyone - looks like the mirrors won't fold when on the move unlike my Touareg - thats a shame
