We are waiting for arrival of our 3.0T Audi Q5. As you know, it is rated at 270 HP in the Q5. Does anyone know whether there are any physical differences between the different varieties of 3.0T? I've seen 310 HP, 333 HP, etc. Is it just software and ECU? Or are there internal differences in the engines?

I'm wondering how hard it would be to bump the Q5 from 270 HP to 310 or 333.

What do you think/know?

Petrol or Diesel?

The only 3.0 UK spec currently is 245PS TDI or the SQ5 with its Twin Turbo TDI at 313PS...

Realised you must be States side?

If you look at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Volkswagen_Group_petrol_engines and search for 3.0 V6 24v TFSI 213-245kW on the page I presume it is this engine.

You will likely be able to map the ECU but it is also high likely that there will be variants in air intakes/manifolds etc on different applications to get more/less power - and also different chassis' will allow for different configurations of ducting etc for more efficient performance etc.

I would expect the major internal of the engines are the same though...

This looks interesting! http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php/532600-GIAC-Stage-1-for-the-2013-Q5-3-0T-is-Now-Available!-400HP-content-inside
