Just got around to checking my tire pressures (car just 3 weeks old!) and was surprised that they were all over 40 psi.

I have just read on another forum that the factory inflates tires high and the dealers, during the PDC should adjust. If that is correct my dealer didn't. So be aware when taking delivery!

Does anyone know what they should be, alloy's require much higher pressures than steel wheels of old and the bigger the alloy generally the higher the pressure.

Are you sure ?

My A3 is 2 and 2.1 bar, which is about 29 - 31 psi ?

34psi all round in my 17" S3 wheels running 224/45/17

Dont rely on manufacturer pressures 100%....different spects/tyres/wheel sizes all contribute to variables requiring different pressures.

On my TD5 Defender Landrover quoted 30psi on the front and rear - we used to run them at 40psi on the road and it was much better!
