Order is just about to go in for a 2.0 TDI, what do you get in the "Comfort Pack" ? ( Can't see it referenced in the pdf )

If you browse/download the latest PDF from the audi website for the Q5, It lists

the comfort package as items 4E9, 8T1 and 9ZX being Cruise control, mobile telephone preparation ? Bluetooth interface and power operated tailgate.

When I ordered my Q5 the Technology pack included the electric tailgate, which it now doesn't, although the tech pack is not reduced in price.

I suspect this is one of those marketing initiatives to increase prices without increasing the base model price which is what magazines etc. use to compare cars.

Do you know when the electric tailgate stopped being part of the tech pack? I ordered my 2.0 Tdi S-Line with Tech Pack in November for delivery in March and the electric tailgate was in the brochure back then.

The new brochure is dated January 2010 for model year 2010.

The old brochure listed the tech pack as PNG 7X4 4E9 which includes items 7x4 (audi parking system plus) and electric tailgate (4E9).

The new brochure lists two technology packages as:
PNG 7X4 UF7
Technology package ? High includes Satellite Navigation system ? HDD-based with MMI 3G, Audi Music Interface and
Audi parking system plus

and

PNW 7X4 UF7
Technology package ? Low includes Satellite Navigation system ? DVD-based with Audi Music Interface and
Audi parking system plus

so providing your salesman has ordered PNG 7X4 4E9 you must get the old tech pack including electric tailgate. If your order form only lists PNG or Tech Pack, you are going to have a discussion with your salesman!!

My order form just says 'Tech Pack' although I seem to recall the salesman entered each of the individual codes for the options into his system. I guess that as there isn't a code for 'Tech Pack' he must have entered the individual codes for the SatNAV, Parking-Plus & Electric Tailgate.

If you do not have a copy of the order the salesman placed with Audi, but only a general order form which lists tech pack you will have to discuss with your salesman exactly what he thinks will now be delivered.

Take the position of "You have heard that there are changes on 2010 cars. Is your order, especially in relation to the technology pack, affected?"

I ordered my car on the7th Jan - the tech pack DID NOT have the electric tailgate which is on my order as a separate item
My actual order form shows each code and what it consists of - very efficient of Watford Audi
