the Q7 alone went down 2.2k in aug and 1.5k Sept, so I have been offered on this basis for my Aug 06 3.0 tdi Sline Q7 with some nice extras, for December when Q5 is delivered .....?20-22k, thats about 6k off where is would have been 3 months....I am still in shock, not sure that finding another 13k for a new Q5 is going to be viable now....

The crazy thing is the dealer expects you to pay full book for the replacement car - if used car values are down, then so are new car values - so just take ?6k off the offer for the Q5

Yeah tried that, didn't work!
My stupid fault for wanting a new to market car as soon as it's available.
If I waited 3 or 4 months I could probably get at least half of that back

Andy - in normal cases this wouldn't work - and of course the dealer will say this too - however in the current climate dealers are hungry

kaine..if you hear of any dealers doing that , let us know! I did ask for a discount and no was the answer

Yes, same here. I think there will be initial take up of the UK allocation at the beginning to limit discount.
I'd like to be proved wrong though.

I have to say, if I was in this situation, I'd keep the Q7!
