White

We have white (had a black Audi last time).
It just has so much presence in White.
It is the best decision we have made on car colour ever.

There are a lot of White Audi's now which does water it down a bit , BUT you
still dont see many Q5's on the road.
Having seen dark ones I still think ours looks far better (sorry those who have dark colours).
White rocks !
See our pic at the top of the main page in Scotland.
Hope this sways you slightly.

Now which way would I vote?

Being serious though, I have mainly had black or dark cars where I have had a choice. We have just had a pepper white Mini which changed my perception (It actually seemed to look cleaner for longer) and the Q5 was an Audi dealer car where the spec was perfect; so we took a chance on ibis white. Have not regretted it; and it get more looks and compliments than any other car I have owned.

IMO there are no practical differences, it just depend on how much you want to be noticed.

Spanner in the works time.

Would always go for metallic black, looks really good when waxed and cleaned like a mirror finish.

thats my two pennies worth lol.

Am ready to be shot down.

Redrocket there is a poll that i started about 4-6 weeks ago about what colour people are choosing have a peek at that may give you some more info.(think grey was the most popular).

Not at all Rich , I love metallic black too and would have gone for that if I had been able to spec from scratch. Having now lived with Ibis White for a few months, for me personally it's just a refreshing change and something I would never have had the bottle to "choose". One thing I would say on Ibis, I do think that it is really complemented by privacy glass but again, you pays your money..........

@redrockejim - I think you just need to see both in the flesh and decide what is right for you - both are superb and do the lines of the Q5 justice (to be honest there are only 1-2 colours I would NOT choose). Is your build slot such that you can change colour without losing it?

I have it in white and think it looks great. Again I have the privacy glass and think this works well. There are also other features that are naturally dark on the car that when you choose it in black disappear. For example the bottom half of the wing mirrors are dark and when the car is in white I think look great as it produces a nice colour contrast. Choosing a dark coloured car and you don't get this. There's other trim where the same is true. I have been meaning to take some nice photos of the car. Will post them when I get around to doing so.

I've currently got a black A3 which I love but it's a whatsit to keep looking good - that is the only reason I didn't choose black for the Q5. Having seen a couple of white Q5s, I have to say I love it! White isn't a colour I'd normally choose but it gives the Q5 real presence. The only other car I like in white is the MINI in Pepper White (I think Warburton mentioned that too?).

With you on this. The Q5 looks oustanding in Pearl Black and IMO was worth the extra cost. We are really pleased with ours. We also went for the all black finish which gives the car an extra individuality.
The Ibis white does look really good but as it appears there will be a lot of these around when it comes to the time to trade in. Silver used to be the Audi colour of choice and now they seem to be promoting white. As Rich and others say it is down to personal choice and I am sure what ever you choose you will be delighted.

After well over a year of ownership I could have sworn the mirrors were painted. I go outside and find a sizeable strip of black plastic at the bottom of the mirror. Cheapskates:p /Goes out again to find other bits of unpainted plastic on grey car.

I agree! Just taken delivery of mine in white and it really does look the business.

My last car was a RX350 in metallic grey and when it was clean and the sun was shinning it looked fabulous but it was a pig to keep clean and constantly looked dull and shabby. The white does seem to look cleaner for longer.
