Have any of you read the new Autocar SQ5 Review? They barely talk about the speed, the looks and economy; not to mention the no mention of SOUND at all in the review and only focus on the handling?! Telling us to buy an Evoque...pfft!

Sorry autocar that was possibly the most disappointing and rubbish review I have ever read! Link below:
Have a read and let me know what you think:

Well said Jose. The one thing in that review which I could understand Snow Man, was the bit about quattro GmbH as that seemed reasonable, but I suppose when I test drove the SQ5 I had no other performance car to compare it with in terms of handling, as coming from a much slower X5 with a 0-60 of 6.6s going from that to this beast seemed already very exciting.

I can understand all of your points about this; and Craig I just looked at that actually I find that quite interesting, wonder if it was a different editor. But for this editor to have a rant about the SQ5's handling (which when I drove seemed not bad actually, compared to the X5 with the worlds worst turning circle!) and not about the positives of it- its a pointless review! Giving readers the wrong message about a beautiful car, which not to mention sounds unbelievable.

The Q5 is due an upgrade I believe late 2015 (if I'm correct?) Or what they might do is renew the Q5 then and wait a little longer for the SQ5 similar to the X5 release and X5M. So by then I'm sure it will be in need of an upgrade, but with those beautiful LED lights, front and back I can't think of a better looking SUV in the market at the moment.

I don't know mate I think elitism is a little extreme; I would have gone for the 3.0tdi if the SQ5 wasn't available I just think I/We got a little overwhelmed when something we love, our Q5/SQ5 was put down like this!

And don't get me wrong my son has an EVO subscription and I'm not going to lie I have a read too :) It was all just a bit of a shock to the system.

Snow Man don't you have an SQ5 on order?

Funny story actually when we went to BMW about our X5 and how we didn't like the new one he immediately brought up the X3 35d in comparison to SQ5. When we drove it; podgas you are so correct about its tractor noise, it was very fast and of course had its high qual BMW interior but the overall styling wasn't very appealing to us.

Yes I agree Jose, that was the drawback with the Cayenne for us; having a lovely BMW, Merc or Audi in our driveway looks good, but as soon as an RR or Porsche come into a picture it opens up a whole new view on us and thats exactly what the wife didn't want

Very well said John and Bonzoboy! Couldn't agree more myself now I think about it; media and mags these days don't have the facts or information an owner needs no matter how respected they are.
Autocar, whatcar and Top Gear! What I found interesting is with the release of the Alpina xd3 base price of ÂŁ55,000 with pretty much identical figures to the SQ5, that gets 5 * ratings when it is 10k more and SQ5, which some say is poor value for money gets 3 *.

Hey Ho, what can we do! Advice I have learnt from this? Test drive the car yourself and don't listen to BS by any other jumped up journalists.

Haha same here! My apologies for even starting this topic, however it did get all our anger out so in some ways it was a success :)
Somtimes we need to have a moan to keep us healthy hehe!
