All slightly off topic so thought I'd post here:

Surprisingly (or not so surprisingly depending on your expectations!) RSQ3 is being questioned about its existence - found it quite interesting actually after reading endless reviews of the SQ5 saying if you want something punchier wait for RSQ3, and now Top Gear says if you want something punchier go for S3 ;-)

Verdict 3/5
Without question, the RS Q3 is the fastest compact SUV on the market. However, using the famous badge on this new bodystyle has diluted some of the brand's core values too. The 2.5-litre engine is a brilliant performer, but despite its compliant ride, the chassis never feels engaging enough to earn its RS status. It's a likeable alternative to a hot hatch, but a very expensive one at that.

Sounds a bit like an SQ5 review...
Value for money the sQ5 seems to be in a different league to the RSQ3

S models are always the value trim level to go for.
RS, when done correctly are fantastic, but Audi seem to have a pattern developing around soft RSs that are not done by the core Quattro GmbH team. (Started with the TT). They never seemed to get the dynamics correct when GmbH are not in the mix.

Last week they were banging on how the 4/5stars 4.9 - 0-62 xd3 was the fasted SUV on the market and how brillient it is Now it's the 3/5 star RSQ3 0-62 in 5.2. Is the fastest.

Any guesses what it might be next week.

Yeah, that's correct. TT and the RS3 are trims assembled on the same model line in Gyor as the rest of the range. Audi RSQ3 production is in Martorell, the seat factory and somewhere in India.
They also don't follow the min 100bhp more than the S models used by GmbH as the guiding principle for RS models.
I believe Gmbh did help with the engine design which comes from the US rabbit in some distant way. (True audi parts bin style).

I got confirmation from a trusted Audi source the car is penciled for release (on the road) August 14
New A4 next year, then A5 followed by Q5. S1 is due soon and RS3 is next year now.

RS is Audi's highest performance 'top-tier' trim level, positioned distinctly above the "S" ("Sport") specification level of Audi's regular model range. All "RS" cars pioneer some of Audi's latest and most advanced technology and engineering prowess, therefore, "RS" cars could be described as "halo vehicles". Audi RS cars are some of the most powerful vehicles ever offered by Audi. The Audi RS6 5.0 TFSI quattro, for instance, is more powerful than the physically larger Audi S8 5.2 FSI quattro.
Available for limited time and only in select markets, on a restricted model range, these "RS" models are wholly designed, developed and produced in-house by Audi AG's high performance private subsidiary company, quattro GmbH, at its Neckarsulm factory, whereas Audi "S" models are produced at the same assembly line as regular Audi models. "RS" model also usually have a wider bodyshell (sometimes informally referred to as 'widebody') to allow for a wider front- and rear-axle track than regular Audi and Audi "S" models.
Unlike Audi "S" models whose interiors well-furnished in order to retain the feel of sport luxury, the interior of Audi "RS" models are often spartan by comparison as the emphasis is more on track performance than luxury.

Interesting read thanks Snowman.
I assume the R8 is also produced by quattro GmbH? And anyone know if a new Q7 is on the line up as that is due for a major update!
