Hello to all.

I am really looking forward to seeing this car in the flesh! I just wanted to start a thread about being an AUDI owner.
I have never driven, owned an audi, except a test drive in a left hand drive Q7 some time ago.

I just wanted to ask about general things like, driving exp, interior build, mechanical and tech probs you may have encountered. Are you happy with your cars, customer service etc.....

Any response would be great

Thanks
Metin.

Hi Metin,

I have owned an Audi A2 some years ago and now I drive an A6 Allroad 3.0tdi - I have always enjoyed owning AUDI's and have never had an issue (although of course all manufacturers have problems). I am a big fan of the AUDI interiors myself and also have a good relationship with my AUDI dealer which imo is the most important part

Kaine

p.s. I also have an AUDI RS5 on order - production date of the RS5 is not confirmed yet, however I'm expecting this beast in 2009 sometime

This would be my first AUDI to.
I don't expect any problems but I do expect a fantastically built car and interior.
My first chance to see one in the flesh will probably be the Paris motor show in October 08.
On sale date here in France is October.
Counting down the days already.

BTW - nice line up you have there Kaine - A6 Allroad / RS5 - just a bit jealous....

I have owned Audi's for 10 years, starting with an Audi Cabrio 2l, then a S3, TT roadster 225bhp, A4 Cabrio, Allroad then a VW touareg and had my Q7 since Aug 06, the build quality, cabin, etc is pretty damned good, and to be hoenst thats why I have only strayed once from the brand, they just look and feel more expensive then anything else on the road at the same price bracket...

Just had this is today from Audi Docklands, London.

Hi Metin,
Sorry for the late reply. I?ve spoke to Audi UK, and they?ve advised that they are waiting for pricing and specification to be signed off.I do not expect the price list for the Q5 to be release before September at the earliest and the earliest they will be on the road may be December of not January.I will keep you posted.

Hi all, well i phoned my local Dealer in Aberdeen Scotland and they had no information at all, no dates, no price guide, he was not helpful at all....
Either he was with an other customer, or he could not be bothered!!!!
I had a test drive last week of a BMW X3 2.0d M Sport, and to say i was quite taken on. If he had given me a good price on my A4 i might have been driving a BMW.....but something held be back....or was it the wife saying if you buy this dont think your changing when the Q5 comes out!!!!! ( in that tone of voice when you know they are right)

I bought this months What Car Mag and there is a good bit in about the Q5, "the more you look the more you want"
Well guys away to give the car a wash and hear from you soon.
Cheers

Doug - dont get the X3 - imho its fugly

wait for the Q5 - in case of dealer info, basically forget it as we'll be able to pull together more information than they can.

At the moment I think we're looking at Feb 2009 for delivery of the first Q5's if you can wait that long

When i was into the BMW garage last week, the sales guy only gave me ?16,750 for my 07/56 A4 Avant 170 Tdi S-Line when i bought it last March for ?23995..... i about turned and walked straight out and thought i hope it holds it price against the Q5. The only thing i can think of why i got a low trade in price was that there is a new A4 on the streets!!!!
The X3 2.0d M Sport was ?24500 on a 07/57........so hears hopeing the price of the Q5 is easy going on our wallets

Hills of Shropshire here

Doug,

On the trade in value for your A4 the market is a little depressed at the moment as not much is moving hence I'm not suprised with the offer BMW gave you. Look at any AUDI dealer and the forecourts are full of everything you can imagine - I just switched from an A6 Allroad 3.0tdi into a Touareg and had to fight to get a reasonable part ex figure.

This could be a very exciting year for me. My wife and I have a baby on the way, which is due in under a couple of months (can't wait).

In addition, we need to find a new car as my wife's contract will end a lot sooner than we thought, and my SLK cannot fit three. We have been test driving lots of SUV's such as the Kuga, Tiguan, CRV and have looked at Freelander, X-Trail etc, etc, with the exception of the X3. I personally feel that the X3 is a very ugly car, so this hasn't been entertained as an option

I have been aware of the emergence of the Q5 for a number of months, and I have to say, it has impacted all the cars we have viewed. In each case, I have come to the conclusion.... would I really pay X for this car when for just a few thousand more, I can have what I really want ...... the Q5
.

The more I see it, the more I want one, but we are on a tightish budget so the price will have to be right (as close to 30K as possible).

Short term, we will need a car though! Buying the A3 Sportback at the end of the contract as a short term fix is looking promising at the moment. Even TOH has bought into the idea now, having been adamant that we needed something bigger.

Dale.
