Hi Folks,

I have a 2010 Audi Q5 2.0TDI (170).

The Emission Control Light recently illuminated and I have just done a scan with a Ross-Tech VCDS cable.

3 Faults Found:
4914 - Diesel Particle Filter; Differential Pressure Sensor
P2453 00 [096] - Implausible Signal
Intermittent - Not Confirmed - Tested Since Memory Clear

5182 - Particulate Trap Bank 1
P2002 00 [096] - Efficiency Below Threshold
Intermittent - Not Confirmed - Tested Since Memory Clear

5262 - Diesel Particle Filter; Differential Pressure Sensor
P2454 00 [175] - Short to GND
MIL ON - Confirmed - Tested Since Memory Clear
Freeze Frame:
Fault Status: 00000001
Fault Priority: 2
Fault Frequency: 126
Mileage: 156612 km
Date: 2000.00.00
Time: 00:00:00

The DPF soot levels are low so I don't think I have a problem there.

It looks pretty clear to me it the Differential Pressure Sensor.

My questions is when fitting a new unit do I need to perform 'Adaption' on the new model with VCDS or is it just fit / clear the fault codes and away you go….?

And if I do need to do 'adaption' how the hell do you do it?

Sorry for the numpty questions but I'm still learning this VCDS stuff

Cheers,

Lee.

Well its fixed! and far easier than I expected.

The replacement sensor from the Audi dealer was £61.38 and the part number was 059906051A (based on the actual vehicle VIN).

10mins to fit and the VCDS adaptation for the new sensor was even easier, literately select 'DPF differential Sensor adaptation' from a drop down selection menu and hit 'Go'! 5 seconds later I get the 'successful' message!

So now I have no warning lights and no faults, and even better I'm feeling smug because I fixed myself

Thanks! I reckon this would have been a £250-£300 job at the dealer (including the fault-finding)!

So my vag-com has nearly paid for itself on its first job! (thats what I like to think anyway!)
