We have this option on our car and we find it difficult to lock the car sometimes. we never have a problem unlocking only when we get out of the car and try to lock it. we try all the handles and none respond, walk away and come back still nothing, and then it just works, another time it will lock first time. The key is either in my trouser pocket or my wifes handbag

Any clues?
Are we being stupid?

Locks fine on mine so hopefully it is you. The day I got it the first couple of times I too had difficulty locking it but then discovered that if you try to grab the handle as if you were to open the door the car won't lock. Try it and see. Just a quick gentle brush over the sensor will lock the car as long as you hand/palm/fingers are straight. I can lock it with the top side of my hand/finger as well but if I clutch my fist and try to lock it with my thumb for example the car thinks I want to open the door and won't lock. Hope it makes some sense. Practice, practise...
