Ok back again.
I have really taken time to come to love my Q5, but love it, i do - 2.0 Tdi Stronic
At first, i found it slow, over-geared & generally uncomfortable on the 20" wheels. I was seriously thinking about selling it & buying an A5 Sportback or an A4 Avant. Ive tried a plug in tuning box which did improve economy, & a set of 19" wheels. However as the car is used mainly as a long distance hauler, 3 times a year to the South of France, I've decided to return it to standard. It has just had its first oil service, & its running really well. The economy overall is 34 mpg not bad seeing it spends its time at a constant 90 mph on the French Autoroutes. It just seems to run a bit smoother without the chip. Whilst the smaller rims definately gave a better ride, the car was not as stable on the motorway.
Anyway, we are off next Friday for our 3rd trip to France in the Q5 in 6 months, a 2500 mile round trip, taking in the Monaco GP this time.
