Hi
I just noticed that the 2.0tdi sline does not come with this as standard.
Yet the brochure has the 3 zone climate control in all the pictures...a bit misleading I thought!
I ordered the 3 zone climate control (about ?440) because I thought otherwise the dash would be too plain.. afterall, not much point in ordering the interior light pack if there are no buttons to light up!!
Does anybody think it is worthwhile or does the air just mix anyway?

I went for the standard as was a abit peeved that it wasn't standard on a ?30K + vehicle and wanted to spend my cash on other things, have been quite happy with the standard single zone but still think that at least dual zone should be standard c'mon Audi !

I went for standard too. Had it in my last 3 cars and to be honest with only me in the car most of the time it was never used always set at the same temp both sides.

Huwy has a good point here..c,mon Audi!
I am on my 4th audi now and even my 2002 A4 had 2 zone climate control....I think it is a step backwards and so does the dealer.
Most of the time we do have the temp within 1 degree or so....but it just looks alot better if the dash is populated with buttons especially in the dark!!

Hi Johnny
Are you sure that the S-Line doesn't come with three zone air con as standered, my reading of the brochure is that the SE and the S-Line has the three zone but the 6cl 3.0 tdi has additional rear passenger adjustments, and thats what the additional cost is for if you spec it.
Might be wrong but hope not as my car is now ordered and I have not included it.

Hi Stevepen
The brochure is not very clear but on the accessory page for the three zone air con the SE and the S-Line has a line - which means it cannot be spect as it has it as standard and below that is the cost for the addition rear passenger adjustments like the 6cy model.

Hi Bill

I dont know if my brochure is newer or older than yours, but mine has dot to say its available as a cost option ?440 on the 4-cylinder SE and S Line specs.

Cheers

Hi
I double checked with the dealer before ordering, unless you have the 3.0 6 cyl model then it is a ?440 option.
Oh and another one to watch out for if you are going to order a new one is that if you do not order the sat nav then all the MMI buttons (wheel and hard keys) are mounted on the dash around where the radio normally sits.
This can leave the centre console beside the gear level looking a little sparse.
Ofcourse alot of the demonstrators have the sat nav option and 3 zone climate control fitted therefore people (including me) often fall into the trap of thinking that the position of the switchgear won't change.

Hi

I test drove a ?38k 2.0TDI S-Line this morning and was dissapointed that the 3 Zone AC isn't standard but is on a A4 at ?23k, however the demo car had the full MMI with Sat Nav and when you adjusted the tempearture the display in the MMI changed and showed the temp set as a digital one and also the position on a rotary dial.

BMW used to do the same with their 5 series until the car was facelifted 2 years ago so you could easily spend ?45k on a car with no vents in the back.

Hi Stevepen
Yes there is a dot on the second line down for the SE and the S-Line which indicates that it will cost ?440.00 for rear passenger adjustment which is standard on the 6 cy model. But on the first line it has a dash for the SE and the S-Line but a dot for the base model which can be upgraded to 3 zone so to my mind that the three zone is included in both the SE and the S-Line.
If you check the spec for the base model it has one zone air con then turn the page and under interior it includes Deluxe 3-zone and rear passenger adjustment only standard on the 3.0 tdi only, thats how I see it anyway but will know next month when my car arrives.
Brochure could be clearer.

Your right Bill the brochure should be clearer. I'm collecting mine on the 15th
, its a S-Line with the 2.0 TDI. I'll let you know if it has the 3-zone or not.

Cheers

Hey all

A very good point about the position of the MMI control! I know the control is on the dash board if SatNav is not installed when I ordered the car... and i really not liking the look of the centre console beside the gear stick looking sparse, but i cannot justify paying extra ?2000 for that! As satnav isnt something I use everyday... What should I do???

May be i can still add the option while the car is still being built...

Help!!!

Hi Steve
Wish mine was coming this month, as a matter of interest what colour did you go for?
Bill
Hi Bill

Its the solid black. There were 2 black ones outside when I had the test drive,1 solid and 1 metallic. Unless up close I could'nt see the difference so put the money towards the tech pack instead!

Hi Steve
Good choice but hard to keep clean, couldn't make up my mind and changed my order from Daytona Grey to Ice Silver. Checked again with the dealer about the three zone Air Con and I had presumed wrong they all come with one zone air con with the exception of the 3.0 model,I don't think I would have ordered it any way even if I had known about it as it seams an expensive upgrade just to keep your better half happy.

Definitely 1 zone as standard on all but the V6's. I also think this is a joke but bit the bullet and paid the extra as I wanted vents in the back and digital display. As to the MMI, yes all controls around the head unit if you don't order the sat nav. It looks a bit sparse at first but after 6 months I've totally forgotten about it.
There are pictures of mine in this thread but they seem to have disappeared - maybe the database issues a while back??

Hi Andy
Surely you get rear vents on the back of the centre arm rest even with the one zone air con ? I have that on my VW Golf match at the moment with single zon air con and it cost less than half the cost of the Q5.
