When I initially read my manual predelivery, that's what I thought too but on delivery it had one. Very odd situation. I know not all cars have it (in the manual extract above it does say 'for cars with..." but I wasn't expecting a difference between '23 and '24. Maybe it's a location thing.
 
The deactivation is only for rear facing child seats. If you are not using a rear facing child seat you should not be deactivating it, unless maybe for medical exceptions.
My initial thought was 'you shouldn't be' but i didn't want to question the reason.

In the UK we have similar abiut child seats but it's never just on age as they can vary so much. We have an age (12) or height (1.35M).

If they're old/tall enough to be out of a child seat then I wouldn't turn off the airbag.

Mine rarely went in the front at that age but when they did it was with the airbag on.
