Start/Stop has been introduced on all manual 4 cylinder engines.
Stratos blue is discontinued.
Something Brown has been introduced.

And thats it - official releases go out to the dealers next week

Forgot to say that the start/stop has the effect of lowering the emissions.

So, for a 170bhp 2.0TDI the emissions drop from 175 to 165, making it a band lower for VED dropping yearly (2010/2011) VED from ?180 down to ?155 and the showroom tax from ?250 down to ?155....

Because it's a pain in the **** when you're driving in town in very slow bumper to bumper traffic....

I guess it might be, but it shouldnt be noticable.

I doubt i will ever see it work as my commute is a 50mile blast with no stops!

June will be 2010 spec. Cars from sept on are definately 2011.

Plenty of chat about towbars on here, have a search around but it seems that factory fit was best as aftermarket ones electrics are a pain and need to be coded into the car etc.

mine is an estimated end of june build and will be a 2011 spec. confirmed by dealer(dont think he would lie lol).he also said anything from build date of april onwards would be 2011 spec so not sure what you will be getting

My order status is production confirmed. scheduled week 17 so that would be week commencing Mon 26th April so hope I do get the new spec, what do you think?

I would ring the dealer and ask him the question,i am only going on what my dealer told me,looking at some of the other post other dealers are telling other customers different things

.who would think buying a new car would leave you wondering and waiting so much lol!

I collected mine yesterday and all the docs indicate it is a 2010 car, but the dealer said it is a "version 2", so not sure (them and me!) what that means?

From I heard there will be no auto hold function for manual transmission cars (only automatic). My wife recently got A4 with start/stop and there is a button to deactivate this function next to coin holder. Though not sure if it will be done same way for Q5. Also if you're driving bumper to bumper with just very short stops, you can keep engine running just by keeping clutch pressed while on stop.

mine is a 2.0 tdi with stop start, and you can switch it off, it only has tdi quattro on the back not 2.0 tdi quattro

Mine is also tdi 2.0 litre and it is pretty easy to turn the start/stop off, so it will not be a pain after all!

I understand Trailer prep will be standard in 2011, at least on the 3L I've been told. This includes extra cooling capacity and a bigger alternator as well as electric mods and a brilliant piece of software for the ESP that could be a life saver if you ever ger trailer snake. As for towbars, factory fit is the way to go, believe me, as a dyed in the wool Audi man I went for non Audi, should have known better, it's a lot of hassle!

How about the water pump? Will it still be made of plastic? Shame if audi wouldn't deal with that issue in their newest products...
