Hi all, I’m hoping that someone can help with an issue I have with the external button for the boot.

The internal button and key fob work fine to open the boot and the external button works to close the boot but not to open it. The external button also works to stop and reopen the boot right up to the point that the boot is fully closed and latched.

I’ve taken the liner out and the connections all seem fine so not sure what to try next - any suggestions welcome! 🤞🏼

Hi there - thanks for replying. That’s the button yes. I’ve checked all MMI settings and that’s all fine so I don’t think it’s that. Thanks

Check the boot latch is aligning properly and that nothing has been catching the plastic protection on the boot lid part (check it doesn't have marks or gouges in the plastic). Is the external button sealed and dry inside (any moisture or leaks in that area), maybe the seal has failed or the rubber has been punctured? Maybe a replacement button will fix the issue?
