I have had my Q5 about six weeks (MY2015) and encountered an issue yesterday. I'm booked in to see the dealer in three weeks (first appointment available) but wandered if anyone had encountered it before?

I was joining the motorway and kicked down to accelerate. Automatic gearbox selected fourth and I accelerated to probably 4500 rpm. The transmission then got stuck in fourth and just wouldn't go any higher, no matter what I did with the accelerator fourth gear was as high as it would go.

I tried switching to manual, but that did not help. Eventually, I stopped on hard shoulder and restarted engine. When I rejoined the motorway the same thing happened. I exited the motorway and carried on driving at low speed for about five minutes. I then noticed it was shifting normally again and has been fine since.

Any thoughts?

I'd just call Audi assist.. They won't be able to fix it but it'll get it into the dealer plus you should get a similar courtesy car immediately.
