Hi all,

Well we finally have the Q5, and its fab, it feels so at home to be driving it. There's a little clutch judder when pulling away and the occasional brake squeeling but its brill, we'll keep an eye on them.

We have only 1 regret, we wish we'd got the S tronic, i've not driven an auto for over 7 years but it feels so much like it needs it.

Still love the car though.

Enjoy,

Matt

Hi Matt

Glad you like the car, with regards to the clutch judder, I have a TT with the same and have taken it back to the dealers on many visits - all they say is 'they all do it'

That's why I went for the S-Tronic, but reading the TT forum recently has revealed big problems with the software!

So I'm not sure what to think now!

No issues with S Tronic as far as I have experienced so far Hoggy - my car was a Jan 2010 build so not sure if it has latest firmware, but certainly no juddering on pull away and all seems smooth through the range. Have done 3,000 miles in mixed conditions and very happy with this as my first auto car.

Matt, we initially ordered a manual as I'm not a huge fan of auto's - however, about 7 weeks after ordering, we managed to blag an S-tronic for the day and I changed my order the next day - it cost me about 3 weeks on delivery, but really pleased to have made the change.

Have to say though, I drive it in Sport mode most of the time, apart from once I have got up to speed on the motorway, as the ordinary Drive mode feels very sluggish. In Sport it is great and actually takes off up to 40mph very well for a big lump. In Drive it has 7 gears but only 6 in Sport/Manual, so the 7th is a good fuel saver as it knocks about 500rpm off the clock.

I think the Manual toggles, whilst a nice gimmick, are a bit of a waste of time and they hardly ever (never) get used!

Yep I love the S-tronic on my 2.0 S Line Spec Ed.

Great in Auto or Sport
