Sorry... :)

Really looking forward to getting mine. Mid December delivery.

I'm guessing the midrange shove is were they can tweek the current settings with zero issues.

I have put a few enquires out there...

Basically save your cash as this engine almost at it's safe limits 340ps & 700nm.

Rappy, the engine is more than comfortable waaaay above those numbers.

I have done tens of thousands of miles at 360bhp and 774Nm and thats conservative.

There are a good few BiTdi engines running 450bhp and 900Nm safely with no issues.

Thanks Ian :) I'm guessing to get those numbers I would be looking at stage 2 remap.

I was hoping around 400 ps & 750/800nm. And proven rolling road figures. Not fantasy figures with no data to back up the claims.

Yes, stage 2 or higher is 400+. For that you need bigger intercoller, modified air box and DPF delete downpipe.

MRC have dyno proven map to about 400bhp on stage 1 and higher on stage 2

JD Engineering in Holland are pushing 450bhp on stage 2/3.

Tuning box you can expect about 360bhp ish (DTUK have rolling roaded their map's)

Revo offer stage 1 but only 360bhp.

Darkside Development now have an SQ5 and have mapped it, they also have a spare biturbo set up to play with so they might see some big numbers soon

I think they can if they really wanted to look for it. Took DTUK off before service - no issues

picked my sq5 plus up last saturday and i have to say i think it goes quite well, having a 500bhp rwd honda civic its never going to feel like the quickest car ever but i think the over all drive is very good.

my look at tuning options at some point soon but it is only a week old and dome 250 miles so im in no rush

so...given that the bluefin has a reversable re-map, can a dealer tell that you've re-mapped then un-re-mapped during a service?
A dealer who is clued up would tell by the flash count.

Revo have been doing the reversable map for years, you just needed to flash it back on with them.

The Bluefin numbers are rubbish, total waste of time.

Audi now look at the following for tuning and apply flags

Gearbox TG1
Suspected use of a Tuning Box TB1
Engine Modifications TD1

I dont think you will notice any real difference with +31 BHP and +88Nm for ÂŁ400

Same as the Revo map.....low numbers. IMO the best solution in the UK is the MRC map.

Give it a couple of days any it will seem the same car as you've been driving since day one.

MRC remap mmmmmmm.

Can't seem to find any rolling road print outs.

Ian, I remember you mentioned 400PS. Which is what I would be hoping from a stage 1. Do you have a link & what was the increase in torque?

Thanks,

Rappy

JD Engineering seem to be hitting the highest numbers but are based in the Netherlands......not too far a drive for a quality map. Take a look at their Facebook pics for all the RR print outs of various BiTdi cars (A7, A6, SQ5 etc)

MRC have more RR print outs on their facebook page, I believe stage 2 they hit just under 400 but not sure exactly was involved in stage 2. I thought they had hit close to 400 at stage 1 but cant find the evidence. I know the owner of the car that they did a lot of work on with good numbers so will see if I can get any info out of him.

All this talk made me refit the DTUK CRD3+ yesterday. Have to say even just in auto mode it is definitely more rapid!

If you check the bluefin takes the vehicle to 353bhp as the 31 bhp increase was on my vehicle that ran more than stock. They had the vehicle for days working on the optimum power.

It is certainly noticeable and worth the money.

As quoted by Bluefin a +31 bhp increase. It took your vehicle to 353bhp, thats not to say every car will start above the numbers quoted by Audi. Now admitedly most will but in my opinion the numbers Bluefin and Revo are getting are low.

There are better solutions out there. Tuning boxes are hitting higher numbers than Bluefin and they really are simplistic tuning.

Each to their own as long as you like it thats all that matters

see, this is what I don't get... how can external tuning boxes be getting better numbers than a re-map where you can control more parameters?

this makes me more inclined to believe the Bluefin guys are being realistic and conservative.... >??

Looking at some of the other cars typically tuned and the numbers Bluefin get compared to the majority of other tuners suggests that they are behind with their tuning.

I have never used them or been in a car tuned by them but the numbers speak for themselves.

Realistically for a stage 1 SQ5 the majority of tuners are hitting 380BHP and 760-800Nm hence why I thing the Bluefin numbers are low
