As I've posted recently I've bitten the cheque book and ordered my SQ . I have a day with a demonstrator tomorrow so need some quick advice !
I love the look of the 21's but will I really notice a difference in the ride quality to the 20's. ?????
Cheers Dave

Nothing wrong with the ride quality of the 21s, I find it very smooth and they look great. An SQ5 with 20s just doesn't look right.

Clearly my comments were IN MY OPINION or I would not have said it ........ aren't most comments in a forum on the basis of someone's own opinion. Do we now need to state that disclaimer after every comment ???

Is your comment regarding an SQ5 in Ibis based upon your opinion or fact ........ doesn't state in the post

Maybe its a "FACT" - I have owned an ibis white Q5 previously,
Where as you've only test drove a car.... so not really lived with it!

My "opinion" is 21s are for those lacking in other departments also likely wanting to pretend the SQ is a sports car - which its not
My other opinion is its so easy to be an arse if one tries.

Well I have 21's with no adverse affects on ride quality and it's ibis white. In my Opinion ITS THE NUTS!!

Not sure whst you are talking about SM given I have had my car for 9 months now!!

My opinion is that SQs without 21s are driven by owners who know they made the wrong choice when they see one with proper wheels.

Ha, so update your sig...!
I have real cars, the SQ is just a shopping trolly for us.. I don't need to pretend.
I made the right choice on wheels, they are round, they have tyres on which provide comfort and i don't need to worry about kerbs

The point i was making it's real easy to type crap...

Go with the 20s, the 21s look nice but bring the edges of the rims into range of road curbs and potholes, plenty of threads on here regarding repairing 21" wheels, there are none for the 20s at all so why risk putting yourself through the pain?

As SM with their shopping trolley (lucky soul) has already pointed out the ride quality is slightly less firm (its actually very good indeed). And, finally if you enjoy the available performance of the SQ on a regular basis the it's possible to rip all 4 tyres down to the wear-markers in 12,000 miles, you might want to check some tyre prices.....there won't be much change out of a ÂŁ1000.

Sorry i was being an arse on purpose based on the previous deliberately arrogant and abrasive comment.
I actually don't mind ibis, or 21s and picking either doesnt make it any more or any less of anything.

I just didnt want either - that's why we have an options list.

I have had my SQ on 21's since November 1st, and have to say I don't notice a massive difference compared to some of the other cars I have owned. I have to say it seems to come down to personal preference, and whether you can justify the price. I do think they look great too. I was actually sitting in traffic the other day having a conversation with the guy next to me in grey SQ5, and he said he wished he'd gone for the 21s.

I had an A4 TDI Quattro Black Edition before the SQ and it literally had every option going, including 19' rims on low profile tyres. It banged and clattered like hell on my wonderful Cheshire roads, the SQ is much better IMO.

Worst car I had for banging and crashing around on bumpy, uneven roads was my 335d M Sport. Stiff as hell M Sport suspension on run flat tyres.....BMW recalled a load of the wheels as they were cracking as a result. Simply awful! The SQ is positively Rolls-Royce-esque in comparison.

Only done 100 miles in the car, but the 21's are certainly not an issue so far.. I've sure had worse rides!

I've 21's and find them fine. Nothing like the harsh ride of a previous R32.

21's all the way (smile)

Plus, I figured if I had them from day one, I'd never know any better right?
