When I closed my tailgate yesterday I was surprised to hear quite a lot of water sloshing about inside it - and it hadn't been raining. Anyone else experienced this problem before I contact the dealer?

I am sure this has been reported before. Try a search. I cannot remember the cause. I do recall someone drilling a hole to let it drain out. Do you have a Sun roof?

No I don't have a sunroof. The car is less than 2 years so drilling holes not an option, I expect them to fix it!

I tried searching but couldn't find anything :(

From my search. Leaks occur from screen wash hose leak. Incorrectly fitted replacement light unit. Rear screen seal. Rear screen wiper motor seal.
Sun roof drain tube problems lead to water in the boot. My bad I misread your initial post.

Brilliant thanks - at least if the dealership hasn't seen it before I can point them in the right direction
