A quick shuffty shows only about 2 or 3 genuine posts over the last five pages, there must be well over 100 scammers, sadly getting to the stage I don't want to click on anything on here.

Agreed. I will not be posting on here anymore until it is sorted out.

The top admin/site administrator needs to set up a viability check (extra security check)to ensure that new users are authenticated before being allowed to post.

Isn’t it possible to stop anybody joining the forum for say a month? I know it would hit genuine new members trying to join the forum, but it may send these spammers elsewhere. Must be a lot of people out there leading sad and uninteresting lives if this is how they fill their time.

I'd guess that all these spammers are originating from the same source, click bait. If this xxxx isn't sorted soon I'm out of here. Lack of genuine activity/lively debate has rendered it pretty much dead in the water anyway. Hope I'm wrong.

I’ve been reporting them, however, after the last few days where the forum has been flooded with them, I’m afraid it’s getting beyond a joke, and I just hope the top admin can sort this problem out once and for all.

It’d be a real shame if this forum folded because of these spammers, but at the moment it’s not encouraging me to look or post anymore.

Why let the spammers win. It can be kinda obvious when looking at new posts that most of them are titled wrong. If the title of a new post looks wrong then don’t click on it. We know or have heard of members in this forum , so if we see crap getting posted then just ignore it. Members of the forum giving it up plays right into their hands and they will move on to another site for their entertainment. As I said in an earlier post - there are some very sad and freindless individuals out there. To spend your time spamming lets us know you are going nowhere in life. Sad individuals, so sad.

It’s been a while since I’ve logged on - just really busy with everything - was amazed at how many spam posts there were...

Agree tho don’t let them win and keep the real users going - learnt a lot from the forum and hopefully have contributed a little as well 👍🏼

Hi Guys,

Apologies, I am doing the best I can. I have been on holiday and have deleted all of the spam on my return.

Once upon a time we did have a simple check where the first post from a new member was verified before a user was allowed to post. Unfortunately this system has been withdrawn …. I was told it took up too much Admin time.

May I suggest you PM Admin Steve with any comments and suggestions you may have to improve our forum.

Why should it be necessary to PM him about a very obvious problem? Surely he must see what is going on and reinstate the verification step.

Admin_Steve does not visit often. His last visit was 07.10.19. He may not be aware of the volume of spam or the upset it has caused.

I am only trying to help. Only a suggestion, please don't shoot the messenger.

With the greatest respect, so what, that matters little. Keep pestering/persevering. Be blunt (by PM) if necessary. Does the admin realise that people are getting P1**ed with this? If not point him to this thread.
Ask him to post the reasons why he is not pursuing this problem. We can all listen to his reasoning.

I don't need your "advice" ...….. Is that blunt enough?
